Adobe Photoshop is so well known that it’s responsible for the verb to photoshop. Today, it’s the most famous and popular photo editor among photographers and graphic designers. Photoshop has come a long way since then. The original Photoshop program was developed for the Macintosh Plus to display grayscale images on a monitor.

Adobe bought Photoshop in 1988 from Thomas and John Knoll.
